A while back I loaned some old 8mm film I had taken in 1972/74 to a Canadian enthusiast.

It seems it has found its way to here:-

You should be very thankful, it costs a fortune these days to get movie film converted to digital... :?

Wow really quick on the gear up on the B-17. Very cool clip.

Maybe its just me, but I don't think I have ever seen someone sit that high up in a Mustang before.
Anyone else notice that?

It doesn't look like the mustang driver could close the canopy from that high up. He was likely half standing to get a better view. I've done that on occasion to get a better view taxiing the triplane in tight quarters.

I think that "Mustang Driver" was Bob Hoover!
He's pretty tall to begin with, but I think he jacked himself up so he could see better while taxing.

Peter;
Are you upset over the internet posting of your film?
I would be, especially if I had "loaned" it to a friend and they kept it.
It was great to watch.

That's not a "gear-up" move. He runs the length of the runway on one wheel.
I cringe every time I see the clip of him doing that.

Mudge the fearful

There's sound, but you have to crank it all the way to hear it.

Yes I suppose a laughy face should have been in order on that poor attempt at humor.

Should read: Wow really quick on the gear up on the B-17. Very cool clip.

Ah yes much funnier that way lol.

I never liked that whole 1 gear touch and go with the B-17. Seems that was "cool" back in the day but just plain or "plane" scary to me.

I am not un-thankful - just amused. :)

I am pretty sure by the quality that this was just a DVD made using the projected image rather than the very very expensive frame by frame capture and adjustment.
