I think this was covered in a magazine that I don't get (Classic Wings?) some time back, but that may have been Fw 190's. At any rate, from memory:

-the Russel 109E
-not sure if the FHC 109E has flown or not
-the Messerschmitt Foundation has a 109G-6ish and a 109G-10, both
from Buchons.
-the RAC has their Buchon airworthy
-the Harold Kindsvater Buchon

there should be more, but then again we get into the "airworthy" vs "potentially airworthy" or "was airworthy until recently" debate.

Anyways, this site should hold most of the answers:

By CASA I assume you mean Hispano.

One original Bf109E with Ed Russell in Canada

A Hispano Buchon with Tom Blair at Duxford

Another with Harold Kinsdvater in California

Airworthy, but not flown examples of Buchons with the CAF (for sale) and Cavanaugh in Texas and the Vormezeele collection in Belgium.

Two Buchons re-engined with DB-605s with the Messerschmitt Foundation in Germany.

A Bf109E with Paul Allen in Seattle, rebuilt but not yet flown due to engine issues.

A broken Buchon under repair in Germany after a take-off accident a couple of years back.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head, although I'm sure Dave M2 will be along with corrections soon!

Sadly, I think a better question is: what's the longest a Bf-109/Buchon has flown before being in an accident.

It's a type that I wonder is worth really flying, given its record.

Looks close enough to me Mike, I would say a total of 4 semi regular fliers at present.
You could add the Evergreen G-10 as flyable but not flown, (butchered for no reason)
Greg, yes I did a a 4 part 109/Buchon/Avia Survivor series about 4 years ago in CW, more recent were the Fw190s

With the "safety" record of that type, how bad is it to insure one?

I think you will find a lot of warbirds are not insured when flying, only when hangared, due to the huge costs involved.

There's a good dozen or so Hispano Buchons (including the Kalamazoo example) that survive but aren't airworthy. About the same number of 109s, and a couple of CS-199s.

I had the opportunity to sit in the cockpit (or should I say squeeze into) the Kindsvater aircraft when it was being restored at his farm. Does anyone have a recent photograph of the aircraft I have not seen it for about 6-10 years?

He has an awesome metal working shop and he had just finished spinning a really nice looking spinner.

Anyone know which Gustav was given to North American Aviation for test work?

Also there was another Gustav(still wearing original paint) owned by the Late Australian collector Syd Marshall. Appearently the 109 was seized by Austrailian customs when a well known British collector tried to export it in the '80s. Anyone know which 109 this was and what happened to it?

Thanks

Shay
