 Post subject: caf orphans

just read the new contrails and was wondering about the orphan planes mentioned in the article I havent heard any thing about the saeta jet, or the bandou fighter or F45 [have no idea what the last two even are]. anyways i thought it was the best most informitive contrails I have seen.

I think the reference to the two "unknowns" was really to an experimental homebuilt kinda WWI replica called a "Boredom Figher" and a Fairchild Model 45 (F-45) - neither airworthy or complete. The wrecked FM-2 Wildcat was the one I sponsored and flew for many years until it was destroyed in a crash by another sponsor/pilot. Hard to imagine so little of a Wildcat not being bent or broken. Ask Gary if you don't believe me.
