With all the mustang gathering talk on the board I decided to scan some photos of two Mustangs and a T-6 I taken in the 80's at Minter Field in Shafter California. My Dad and I were at a campground across the road and walked over and wow, Mustangs!! There was even the trailer for Strega. I apologize for the graininess, it was late in the evening so I brightened up the photos as much as possible. Not sure why they were engine-less or outside for that matter.

One is Sander's Nervious Energy and the other is
The late Bill Speers Pegasas. Must be at Tiger D's shop
getting some work done.

Yeah, definately at Tiger's place. There is going to be another cool suprise out of Tigers in the near future. (Not a racer). Minter field will be having it's anual airshow on April 21st this year as well. If you have never been, it's a pretty cool show, real laid back and up close. Tiger usually has Strega up and about, Al Goss with the Warlock T-6, Bob Button with Voodoo, and several stock warbirds and vintage civilian stuff.

Jack,
If that photo was taken in the 80's as the poster says, the checker tail mustang is not Wally Sanders "Nervous Energy." N1WT belonged to J. Irvin Watson and was not sold to Wally until the early 90's after Irvin was tragically lost in an airplane crash.

Actually the checkertailed mustang was N268BD and that paint job was applied when owned by Bob Brynes and later became "Huntress III"...

What did actually happen to Watson. I've heard a quite different story about his demise, which is obviously not true then!

Irvin and his wife were killed by Millville NJ when their Bonanza crashed into a field.

MKD is correct, N268BD at Minterfield, circa April 1988
