I have been off this site for some time, now I'm back.
I was a B17 pilot in ww2 and I will try to answer questions that anyone asks.

hi there, glad to see you back on line! my question to you is that as a young man with relatively little flying experience how confident were you in your abilities as a pilot at the time? i would think that you guys would have been nervous for sure, but a b17 is a lot of airplane for anyone let alone a young fellow thats learning. you guys seemed to do alright for the most part though. i look at kids today and i cant even imagine some of them driving me to the store, let alone flying me somewhere. thanks for offering your insight to us all and im sure you will recieve many more questions in the near future. sim. :P

What version of the B-17 did you fly? Did it have a name, and how did it get the name? Thanks for taking the time to answer questions, and thank you for your service.
