Anything left there? I read it closed about 2 years ago. What happened to the islands of the USS Iwo Jima and Cabot?

I can't speak for the rest of the collection, but in summer of '05 the PBY-5A N4934H, ser. CV272 ex RCAF9838, ex FAB 6525 was disassembled and moved to another museum in the eastern part of Texas.
Currently it is in storage awaiting static display restoration at the Tyler Historic Aircraft Military Museum, also called Tyler HAMM. Tyler, Tx.
I'll see if my contacts at that museum know of the fate of any other Rio Hondo displays.

I think that some of the stuff was supposed to end up here in SA, but that they were doing it rather slowly as they were on a limited budget (ie. gas money) to truck all the stuff up here to Stinson. Haven't checked in there in several months, though. They do have a different hanger now, with more room.

We dropped off our Hawker in Tyler today and the shop is next door to the Museum. The PBY is in the same place & shape and they seem to have more A/C outside. A F-105 and a T-33 were parked on the main ramp across Rwy 4 from them.

They had up to 5 ex Norwegian 190s at one time. The first to go wss the F-8 now with Mark Timken, the rest of the more complete aircraft are now owned by Jerry Yagen
