From today's ICAS FastFacts email:

Raptor on a Mission at Air Shows this Year

The USAF's newest aircraft, the F-22 Raptor, is currently scheduled to be at 18 air shows and open houses in 2007. Both the USAF and its manufacturer, Lockheed, hope that more people seeing the Raptor in action will convince taxpayers, and their elected officials, to support the admittedly expensive program. "The Air Force realizes it's very important that the Raptor demonstrations look different than any other flight profile we've ever done," said F-22 demo pilot Major Paul "Max" Moga to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "As I continuously develop the aerobatic maneuvers, I hope to add them one at a time. By the end of the year, I'll have a full aerobatic profile that will be much different from the [F-15] Eagle or [F-16] Viper."

Last year I was in Camp Scholler for the Raptor Demo. Probably the wildest thing I have ever seen at an airshow. In all my years at Oskosh never I have seen people spilling out of their RVs like they were for the Raptor demo...
Looking forward to this year's version...

Figures, I see from the schedule the F-22s are again set to arrive at Oshkosh after I'm already on my way back home.

It's on the schedule for the Sacramento, CA air show, June 9 & 10.

Is an F-22 appearance schedule posted anywhere? As a taxpayer, I am eager to be convinced that this weapon system deserves my support and fits into our country's complicated defense needs on the basis of an aerobatic routine. I hope it appears in the northeast somewhere.

K5083, I saw it perform last year at Oshkosh, it was incredible! I did not know that is was capable of some of the things that they were doing with it. As for a schedule, I am not sure where to look for it. I saw that it is going to fly once again at KOSH.

Thanks. I do seriously look forward to seeing what it can do, but won't make OSH this year.

Here you go, just click USAF F-22 Demo Team.

http://www.airshowstuff.com/schedules.htm

There may be some flyovers at shows not listed on there, but the shows listed will be getting the six pass profile currently being perfected.
