I finally got a quality DSLR and wanted to see what you guys all thought. I took like 200 pictures just playing with the camera. Thought you all might enjoy.

Great pics..that camera must have a heck of a flash to light up the tomb like that. I've always restored to time exposures to get decent shot.

Thanks guys. I got a Nikkon D-50 with a speed light. For museums I have the standard lense, and for airshows, I have a 70-300mm zoom lense. I am excited that it took good pics.

Great shots. I have not seen the NMF P-47 in person yet. I hope to be out there ths summer for the Trans Am Nationals in Dayton. I always go out a day early to take in the MUSAF.

Did you happen to grab any shots of the Beaufighter?

Do you have any more shots of the new model hanger? Is that a C-5 to the left?!?!

Nice sharp pics! Obviously you have a heck of a flash. I would suggest that you would get more evenly lit pictures if you get yourself a tripod and shoot without the flash, but you will probably need to correct the color balance then. Do you ever get the opportunity to film the shoot the airplanes outside when they are rearranging exhibits, moving something outside for a TV shoot, etc.? It is always a treat to get to shoot rare museum birds in the open.

When they are moving them around, I do get some cool pics. Now that they are pretty much locked in to where they are going to be, they are not outside at all. But when the museum had just put up the Cold War Hangar, the B-38 was outside, and I got a ton of pics. I will have to find those. I am still new to photography, so y'all stick with me. Thanks for the tip, I will experiment.

The model also shows a space shuttle. Is the museum slated to get one of the orbiters when they're retired?

Sweet!

In what capacity do you volunteer at the museum, Mustangdriver? Don't know when I'll be down there next, but maybe if you're around we could meet up (no..this isn't any kind of gay come-on!)
