Here's a few pics I shot in Midland the other day. I also have some decent pics ofthe B-24 restoration, but I'll defer to Gary Austin as to whether he prefers me to post them at this time. The B-24 is a very exciting project and I wouldn't want to spoil any surprises. :)

Great pics. I love the C-46. You should get flight pay just for cleaning the windows.

Howdy Rob! I heard that I missed you yesterday, but hopefully we'll catch up this weekend. You can post anything you'd like with the B-24. The super secret stuff hasn't been done yet and it'll be covered up when it is. ;-)

Come on out and introduce yourself and I'll give you the tour. And if you come out tomorrow morning, you might catch the Hellcat and Zero cranking up and heading out for Californee (weather permitting).

Gary

I'm going to post my pics of the B-24 on the appropriate thread, so go there to check them out :)

Below are a few more pics of some of the other aircraft on site in and around the main hangar. The choppers and outdoor display jets are static display pieces only. All of the other aircraft appear to be airworthy, or potentially very close to it.

Great pics, thanks for posting. I can't wait to see that P-82 fly again. Is there any word on a paintscheme for it?

It looks like Midland has taken good care of our Hellcat and Zero. We will fly them home to SoCal tomorrow.

Looks like you guys have an awsome wing. It is my wish that our wing will get some heavy iron someday.

Hey Gary, is the canvas cover on the tail guns fairly new? It used to be solid right?

Steve Dickey...Yep, that canvas on FIFI's tailgunner's gun is new. I put that on during our last episode of airframe work last year.

N3N Jeff...I don't personally know much of the history on the stuff outside. There is very basic info on some of the signs, but I'd like to know more.

Thanks for the preview. I'll be down there on Friday! So the Zero won't be there by then? :(

Gary, I think I am going to need a paint code for the specific blue on the Avenger for my Bonneville project. 8)

I am super stoked for Friday.

Django, zap me an e-mail about the paint code.

Dan Newcomb, the Zero and Hellcat left right at 9 a.m. this morning. Here are some pictures from their departure....
