I didn't miss it...I just don't have the ca$h sitting around to do anything about it!!!

Besides, they said "no dreamers", so that counts me out right away.

I saw that ad as well and noticed the "no dreamers" remark. I can never figure why people put stuff like that in their ads. Even if I had the money and wanted to purchase it I would probably think twice when reading an ad like this. Kind of reminds me of some ebay sellers out there that have 2 or 3 paragraphs detailing that you should only "bid on it if you're serious" and explaining all the bad things that will happen if you don't pay on time, etc. These kind of sales tactics turn me off and I liken it to getting bitch-slapped and kicked in the balls before walking into a store. :?

John, There is no way I could have said it better! Besides, I believe you have to be a dreamer to start a project like that. I dont know many people with money that are not dreamers ;)

I emailed the ad to you Randy, but I had the wrong e-mail address.

As to the remark "no dreamers," I brought up a similar line in the past: "No tire kickers" and my point was -and is- that using such terms, keeps away some people who could very well become the future pilots, researchers, etc.

Of course, we got into all kinds of things that took the thread in a different direction....

Buy you guys are right; If (a big if) I had the money, I would not do business with someone who has that attitude.

Saludos,

Tulio

"No dreamers" should probably be take as ""NO Time Wasters"". I've had to stoop to putting statements like that in the last few ads that I have posted in various places on things I've had for sale.

When I had my 'Vette up for sale, three people combined, managed to take up over 50 hours of my time asking questions about the car that either required a trip to the hangar and all the work necessary to get access to the car or just showed that they were completely clueless about the car and what was stated in the ad. I finally got so frustrated with the one guy that I told him to get on an airplane and fly out here and I would give him the freakin car just to get him to quit calling me with minute detail questions that took hours to answer. Come to find out he was so broke that he couldn't afford a plane ticket from LA to Dallas.

As to the “no dreamers” note in the ad -

Even if someone on the phone sounds serious, and you can qualify and quantify their intentions, you could still end up wasting a bunch of time and money.

One time I did the favor of booking a hotel room for a guy that was supposedly going to fly in commercial to make a deposit on a project. He never showed, and I pay for the empty hotel room.

Oh well, that’s the biz. I prefer “serious inquiries only”. Sounds just a bit more polite.

Sounds like the guy from Sandy-Ay-go who kept e-mailing me questions about my ' 78 Chevy Blazer, and when I finally told him that my asking price for the truck was firm, and he should not come to Texas thinking that I would sell the truck for $2,000 bucks . . . he stopped writing : )

Is it possible that there is something lost in the language translation?

Stuff the no dreamers bit, does anyone know anything about this machine? Is it a new build fuselage or the recovered remains of a Mustang which would make the basis of a good project?

Aren't there still a few FAD gate guards still laying around down there? Might be a spare fuselage from a parts plane.

And without dreamers, we might have never flown!

Kick the tires and lite the fires!
