Many (many!) years ago my father took some 8mm film of a trip to the old Mercedes field in Texas (1965?). He took some film of a cousin of mine pulling birds nests out of Rowdy's Raider, checking the oil and gas and go fly in it. My father got a ride in a Cessna 310, flown by Joe Engle, over to Harlingen to get some hydraulic fluid for the B-25. The last time I saw Rowdy's Raiders she was about to turn into aluminum dust from the corrosion about the 1982 time frame. I robbed some parts off of her to be used on the CAFs B-25 Miss Mitchell.

I think it was scrapped back in the early 80s along with a bunch of the static display aircraft.

If memory serves this B-25 was given to the Air Force for a ststic display somewhere. I think the CAF did this to calm the AF down after the AF had inspected the static aircraft they had on loan there. The AF did not like the condition they were in.

And I have always disliked that alleged top turret as it is currently displayed...or is that an actual turret for some model I am unaware of?

Did this B-25 have the southern flag as insignia like Connie Edwards A-26 had at the time?

Yes it did have the Rebel flag insignia like the A-26. The faux turret sure does suck. I've seen one thats worse on a static display B-17 at a military base in Florida, it looks like a pimple!
