Well, I've almost located all of the plane pictures I need, but I've got a half dozen stubborn ones that I can't seem to find a good color photo of. Does anyone have these, or know where I can find a good public domain photo of one?

Still looking for:

Ki-84 (I don't suppose anyone has seen the one in Japan, have they?)
He111 (Spanish model OK)
Tempest (prefer the Napier engined one...already have a museum shot, hoping for an outdoor static or flying one, or old color RAF photo)
SBD Dauntless (I KNOW its out there...Willow Run '04, anybody?)
Stuka (sigh...did we shoot them ALL down?)
Il-2 (30,000 plus built...must be one SOMEWHERE)

For details regarding this project, see my prior posts. The short version is, I would like to put these photos in a book. They need not be uber-quality, as they will be reproduced really small. I'd like shots of the entire plane, if possible. You keep all rights to your picture. In return for your permission, you'll receive a free PDF of the book when its done and bragging rights. Yeah, I know.

Thanks to all of you who have already contributed! I hope this turns out to be a book that excites a future generation of warbird lovers.

Post'em if you got'em!

I have shots of the SBD Dauntless on 2 pages of my website. Do you give photo credits?

Not sure what position you want it in. Here are the links to the pics.

Here are a couple of examples

You can PM or e-mail me for a printable version at 300 dpi, these are at 72 dpi, which won't print very well.

Thanks, Spang, but I managed to find a tempest picture since this last post. I don't really want a wrecked Stuka. If you PM me your email address, I'll see to it you get a PDF of the book for offering, though. Thanks!

OK, as of this writing I'm down to four, folks:

The Il-2- must be some museum shots out there, somewhere.

The Ki-84- I understand that there was one flyable example in the sixties, operated by the Planes of Fame. They sold it off to a collector who sold it to a Japanese collector who placed it in museum. Color photos do exist...I just need to find some!

Stuka- Two surviving examples, one in Chicago (an ugly one) and a G model in the RAF London museum. Lots of old Luftwaffe photos, including some color ones, but their copyright status is unclear. Any experten out there?

SM.79- Some museum examples exist. I've also seen vintage color photos, although I don't know their source. Anyone?

Anyone whose got any of these, or can offer any guidance, you're my new best friend...

Hi

I'm based in the UK. I have colour shots of three of the four you need. I've taken. May not be able to easily get at the Ju-87 as some of my photos are in store but I have ready access to digital shots of an Il-2 and SM.79. I assume you credit photos? Send me a PM.

Tim

Hey, that sounds great! Yes, written credit for all copyright holders is included in the book. PM sent.

Thanks!

Soory, Consul, I thought I sent you one. Must've hit the wrong button or something. I plead stupidity.

Just send them to fritz at boomandzoomgraphics.com

If you can recall the year they were taken, let me know so I can include it in the copyright notice.

Thanks!

Recently got some Stuka pix, too, so this means all I'm only looking for a Ki-84 now. (I could use a better one of the Betty, too, but the Hayate is what is holding me up)

Anybody know any Japanese aviation buffs? I've seen a few photos on the web of the surviving Ki-84, but I can't speak a lick of Japanese....although I CAN name all of the monsters on Monster Island, thanks to my ten year old son's Toho obsession.

I have a couple of pictures of the Stuka at the RAF Hendon museum that I took back in the late 80's, but unfortunately I didn't have the right filter on the lense and they are all greenish due to the lighting. :(

Hi Fritz,

If you check your eMails you should now have SM.79 & IL-2 photos.

Best wishes,
Tim
