It looks as though the Museum of Flight has won its battle to get the Connie out of Canada www.conniesurvivors.com/1-connie_news.htm There is also some good photos of the Connie at the NMNA.

Personally I'm glad that the Museum of Flight prevailed on the issue. They are a first-rate facility with the wherewithal to give the Connie the care that it needs. Having said that, I hope they restore it in the TCA livery.

The Museum of Flight will be an excellent home for the Connie.

I think that planes like that deserve to be in good museums. It's too bad the red-tape prevented it from being moved earlier.

It was obviously the Canadian Government trying to keep an artifact in Canada so it could have it on display at a museum someday, but they only responded when they heard the plane would be exported.

I don't think there would have been a problem if the Canadian government had bought it and donated it to the national museum in Ottawa, but because they only reacted to the purchase, it was too late. It's too bad that there won't be a Connie in Canada anymore, but at least it will be well taken care of.
