Looks like their will be a show this year :D

This was posted on Fencecheck.

Just to let everyone know that the Russell Group will be holding its 4th airshow on the 8-10 june 2007.
The Russell group has a Bf109e4 a Spit IX and a Hurricane and Harvard . Aircraft that will also be attending are the B17 Memphis Belle and SBD , P51 a Lysander and a JU52 this is not the complete list as it is a work in progress . The CWH Lanc will be performing flypasts but will not land . Improvements to the flight line and designated spots for Photographers should make for a better show . The Russell birds go up aleast 3-4 times per day. The Russell field is approx 10 miles outside Buffalo on the Canadian side and about 1.5 hours out of Toronto. It is small but very interesting show . This will be the CWH Lysanders first show year as she has just been restored to flying condition

Cheers Dave C

Dave--

If that's true about the Lizzie, that is HUGE news. I'll have to find a way to get one of the Russell show days off work...

Hope to see you there Steve, was at the CWH (2005) when they did a run up on the Lizzie with a short taxi, very cool to see.

Looking forward to the show, hope to see Rob G in the Spitfire :D

Cheers Dave C

Ah, crud! I've already got plans that weekend. Any chance any of the Russell birds will make to the CWH "Soar With Legends" weekend? It was really cool seeing the Huri there last year.

Dave et al--

Have heard reliable word that the CWH Lizzie will NOT be flying quite that soon. Paperwork issues, could be resolved by the end of the year but not by June...

As to Russell Group aircraft appearing at the CWH event in June, never say never. (The Hurricane has already visited, actually--iirc when en route to VWC last year).

Thats too bad about the Lizzie, I hope to see it in the air one day.

I also heard that the JU52 is not in stone as of yet, but they are working hard to get it their for the show.

Maybe we can have a Fleet, Moth formation

I really look forward to seeing a Lizzie in the air again. It's too bad that I can't be there, but I imagine some pictures will find their way to WIX.

Can't wait.

Cheers,

David

I think the JU-52 with a 109 escort would make for some great shots. 8)
