Matt, I just wanted to say that is a great article about the DC-3 you authored in the May/June issue of Warbird Digest. I wasnt sure if you were ever going to make it to Arizona! Do you have an opening date as of yet or a street address for the museum? thanks

I guess I am going to have to go find a copy of the magizine.

The museum is pardon the pun, still up in the air. Hans ran into problems with the city of Glendale and is in the process of moving the planes from there. Once I know where it is to be, I'll let everyone know.

It is ironic that everyone enjoys the stories I write, especialy since I failed english in HS

I am writing a series of short stories called Hangar Tales about some of the adventures I have had while bumming around airports and Warbirds, if anyone is interested, I might post some.

Any pictures you could post of the C-47 in the museum?

right now, it is behind ugly, as Randy's Phoenix trip report showed, it has been paint stripped, and the long nose removed and a original nose is going on.

I too enjoyed the DC-3 story. WD March/April issue arrived yesterday. The May/June copy came today. My cup runneth over. Was your pilot Bob Reid the same Bob Reid involved with N285RA PBY in Beauvais, France?
The first a/c I ever worked on at Lone Star was N25673 DC-3, the Continental Airlines restoration. After two years around the museum I've managed to avoid being speared by pitot tubes or axed by prop blades but I guarantee that if it has a hangie-down oil cooler I'll find it with my head. Sound familiar?
That's a nice interior in your Gooney and the white cockpit looks good as well. Is there ever a glare problem with that?

it is the same Bob Ried. There was no glare problems that I noticed. I have been around Warbirds since I was a kid so I am very good at the Warbird duck and weave.
