We needed a photo for today. So This is the mighty Peacekeeper we visited.

They are huge, but walking around the one in Dayton and looking at the A Bombs next to it :shock: Lock & Load...

A friend of mine that works for Bell Helicopter said a formation of three V-22's, in airplane mode, at full song sounds just like a B-36...

Watch the begining of the movie Stratigic Air Command when they fly over the baseball field...awsome!

Bugazon, Great pictures. Thanks for posting'em :D

Do you have one closer shot of the emblem on the side? It looks like the 28th Bombarment Group/Wing out of Ellsworth... :shock: I worked with Mr. Wilson, a civlian, a great guy. He was navigator on a B-36 when they were there.

The RB-36 at Castle was assigned to the 28th SRW at Rapid City AFB during it's service life. The markings she carries are representative of that time in 51-13730's life.

My Dad used to tell me that when he was a kid he would spend the Summer down at his Grandfather's farm down in Whitney, TX. Whitney was in the flight path of the B-36's and he said you could tell one was coming because you could feel this buzzing in your chest long before you could hear them.

Thanks Scott! Who know 25yrs later, I'd still be learning more about my 1st duty station. :supz: Rapid City AFB was renamed Ellsworth AFB after General Ellsworth was killed in a B-36 crash.
