This coming weekend is the LSFM Airshow in Galveston the 28th & 29th. Anyone plan on attending?! It's looking like it should be good weather to be on the island! There are still some spots available for Sunday mornings Earlybird Photo session. Also for both days we will have a photo pit for additional $10. If you are interested in Sundays Earlybird session @ 0630, please send me a msge.

I would love to, but I can't/ I am going to be getting some C-123 tires for the Air America group though. So at least I am doing something warbird related.

Just don't count on seeing the B-17 in the air for the show this year.

Trae,

Hope it goes well. I'll be running practice sessions Saturday for our picnic the next weekend.

The 17 should be open for tours this year. Just doing some work on an engine but, there will be lots more to see!

Mr Ober.....I'm trying my best to get him to change.....I even think I've written something funny sometime.....says he doesn't have any little ones of his....I offered to resize but he didn't answer that email....that actually isn't my plane but one that belonged to a guy on the West Coast....but I think he sold it recently so I'm not sure where it ended up.

Its more of an engine #3 change than some engine work. It made some chugetty chugetty sounds when they were getting ready to go to Barksdale AFB this past weekend.

MustangDriver,
We were loaded up and cleared to taxi to fly to BKD Friday afternoon when #3 engine developed a bad case of the epizootic. I was in the bombardier's seat and felt the other engines shut down and saw four frowning mechanics looking at the engine. Oil spit hither and yon and it started smoking from the exhaust.
The brass have determined that it's overhaul time. I was mega-disappointed to have my first warbird flight scrubbed but it makes me sleep well knowing that I work(vol.) with people who do it right all the way.
And besides, I spent time with new friends and got lots of useful hands-on B-17 instruction.

I don't have anything to resize at this time. Pics that I had were on a hard drive that crashed last summer.

p.s. one more word out of Wayne, and I'm gonna sick Suzi on him!!

Great info. Thunderbird is one of my favorite warbirds, so I hope that it will be at KOSH like normal.
