I'm glad the crew is fine.
I love the TV reporter caressing the "machine turret still on the plane".
It's not a gun and you all can guess what he's touching!

I'm glad to know that the crew is okay, but it just makes my skin crawl when you hear reporters covering aircraft mishaps.

Belly flop? Machine turrets?

Apparently this news team follows an ol' rule of thumb that a reporter friend of mine used to say to me......"The truth, although interesting, is irrelevant."

What really pissed me off watching it, was all the people just going up and moving the flaps and ailerons and such on the plane, with no regard to it at all!

Heck, I am surprised no one lit up a smoke next to it!

Final resting place? Reporters are real idiots.

Who knows, it may not fly again, so saying that it is going to be moved to its "final resting place" may be correct.

"Final resting place"? We've all seen WAAYY worse than that restored to practically pristine. I wonder what "machine" goes in that particular "turret"?
Why can't these TV stations send someone who has even a modicum of a/c knowledge to this type of thing instead of the closest talking head.
Oh well... I guess he has as much knowledge as the average imbecile.

I really loved watching the news coverage when we had the Doolittle Reunion in Fresno. "13 B-52 bombers, just like the Raider's flew over Tokyo lined the ramp at Fresno Yosemite Airport." It must have been really tough to clear the island with those long B-52 wings. After a couple of news reports like that were you know the real facts it makes you realize that the news should be taken with a grain of salt.

Happy to hear that everyone is ok and it certainly looks like this T-28 could return to the air someday. As far as the TV reporter's coverage, well that's what we should all be the most concerned about. How many times have we all seen TV coverage of aviation issues where the facts are wrong? Or at least not accurate? Here's the problem, it's not just aviation stories that are inaccurate, the TV folks do this with nearly every story they cover. Imagine how badly they screw up stories about nuclear power, medicine, global warming, food, and countless others. I'm not sure the print media is much better.

What's a "machine turret"? Wow, those must be small bullets! I'll bet that reporter would get his facts and terminology right if somebody shoved that "machine turret" up his rear end.
