My good old friend, a Grumman OV-1D Mohawk (Cavanaugh Flight Museum's) spent the night in my hangar. There was a storm coming and we had some room for it. For some reason I sleep better with a twin engine warbird near by. :D These were taken on my camera phone so sorry for the quality:

FYI thats my 1944 GMC DUKW in the background.

Pretty cool Taylor 8) ...with all those toys I have a feeling your friends always want to play at your house and never at theirs.

All you need is a Sherman tank, a half-track, and maybe a Mustang for good measure and you'll be on your way to starting your own museum!

A lesson to be taught here:
NEVER...NEVER...NEVER apologize for posting a/c pics, whatever the quality.

Mudge the mentor

ps. Do you loan "Ma-Deuce" out for an overnight?

haha yes it is a nice place to hang out. All the stuff dad and I have collected over the years is in the apartment portion and it looks like a museum. Usually we have our T-6 and a cub in there though. Funny you should mention a sherman. I am currenty helping to arrange the acquisiton of a fully restored M4A4 for the Cavanaugh Flight Museum.

These are the only two photos I have currently, they are a bit blurry:

Its going to make a great addition to Cavanaugh's already beautiful museum.

Mudge the .50 cal is fully operational and automatic. It will be on the mount above the tank commander's hatch on the M4A4. As for loaning it out, there is a waiting list but I'll be sure to add you to it  Oh man, now that I said that homeland security is going to be at my door.

Have you got anywhere to shoot the Ma Duece up there in North Texas? If not we have a little shoot down here in the Hill Country on Memorial Day wekend where you never have too many 50s'. Might run across an Ezell or two, maybe fast Eddie. Never know who will show up.

That'd be fun to shoot it down there, but Memorial weekend is when we're loading the M4A4 up and bringing it up to dallas. But next year we may come on down!

Taylor,

I recognise the driver in that 2nd picture

Just to prove you drove it as well:

Image

And just to prove you had some fun "on the dark side"

And a picture from the Fred-D photosite of the M4A4 in the open.

And if you think thats a big smile on Taylors face when he was in the drivers position, you should have seen his face when we fired the main gun on the tank!!!

ME109, good pics of the hanger. Ever fired a M-2? Something that you will have for the rest of your life, it's great. I think you saw the half track at the hanger, but, did you notice the mounts for a Ma, douce, and a 30 cal? Lots of brass ends up in the cab, and it's hot. hehehe. Makes a lot of noise too. Lanny has a data plate for the L-5, but I don't think it is what you are looking for. Not the military data plate. Any way, let us hear from you. Oh, by the way, the L-3 is about to break ground again. Got the breaks just about finished. My dream is a Bronco. Cheers,
Ghost

Ryan,
I was hoping to be able to come down there, but as a junior in high school there is this little thing called the SAT that is supposed to be important than flying. Personally flying seems to be a little more beneficial in my college acceptance process, but my college councilor and parents (I thought they were on my side) disagree  :D Let me know when your next event is. My grandfather lives in San Antonio and I'd love to come down and meet you all.

rwdfresno,
Quite often! About every month (every week in summer) we have it up at Lake Lewisville here in Dallas. It’s a fun piece of equipment! You definitely get a lot of stares and honks 8) . It floats and runs perfectly.

That 50 cal sure was something wasn't it! It looks like the tank will be loaded and brought up on Memorial day weekend.
