Well, actually she's named "Sneak Attack", but since her call letters are SUE and John's wife is named Sue, that's kind of how I've thought of her for the last 33 years.

I just looked it up, and found that instead of early June as I'd thought, the Warhawk Air Museum's first show of the season (featuring Steve Hinton in the TAM P-38, by the way) is actually next weekend. I therefore figured I'd better get to work buttering up the Paul family! The show should be a lot of fun, by the way for any WIXers in the Idaho-Washington-Montana area -- Nampa Idaho is pretty central to all these states...

These were shot a very long time ago, when I first discovered (with great delight) this lovely lady. She is former RCAF Kittyhawk 1057, I believe, restored from a hulk by John Paul about 1970.

One thing I do need to do next week is to get a good shot with good light of the other side of that rudder...

Girlie on the rudder looks like an ad for coppertone.Looks like an early E model.I remember oshkosh in 75 and as a 14 year old kid I went up to Tom Camp and asked him when he was going to put the stock canopy back on his E model. His reply: "You're the 15th person to ask me that" Shortly after that I think it was changed. :)

Ah! Memories. :D

A little trip with the 'master', Ray Hanna, after the North Weald Show of June 1984 in the UK.

'Sneak Attack' SU-E was leased for a period to the UK at that time.
