This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

My buddy Sean (who helped me paint the nose art on Ol' 927) has an A2 with artwork for Shady Amy on the back. It's the real deal and we have been researching the aircraft but no luck. It lists several bombing missions to Germany. We think it is 8th AF. It has an 8th AF logo painted on the shoulder, but due to inconsistancy in the paint, we're not sure if it's authentic or not. It's possible the 8th AF is original as they were scrounging for paints, but we don't think so. There is some corrosion in some of the gold paint which is kinda neat.
Has anyone heard of Shady Amy? It is a girl silohette leaning up against a lightpole, with bombing missions to the various towns and how many runs they made to each town.
I'll try to get a pic at band practice tomorrow.
