Thats definitely the original tower. It was located on the southeast corner of the hangar on Jacksonville rd. It was replaced in the early 60's I believe, by a free standing one several hundred feet south of the hangar. It was a unique design as you entered it from inside the hanger floor and climbed a flight of stairs before exiting on the roof and climbing another flight on the outside.
If I ever learn how to upload photos, I will post some pictures of it and its demolition.

The second picture is definitely the flight line you see in the view from the tower. I have seen this shot before, its looking north towards Bristol Rd My mom had a box of pictures like this when I was a kid and now they like her are lost to history. I wish she had written the names of all the test pilots on the backs.
