From back in the day when I used to get a press pass at the air races...

Found these 8x10's. Some were damaged so I retouched them as best I could. I have the originals somewhere (slides), but I'm too lazy to go through all that stuff.

Thanks for posting bdk, good memories. I was also present at Reno in '82. (my first time, man it was cold!) Clay Klabo and "Fat Kat" were regulars in my neck of the woods (Phoenix area) during the early '80s and I also attended all the Chino airshows between '86 and when they took their hiatus. Those were the "golden years" for Chino in my opinion. Regard, Chad Veich.

What's with the prop on the P-51H? I thought the XP-51J was the only model that ever used a 5-blade, was this a modification the Whitington's did? How well did it work? If I recall correctly, the experimental model they tried the 5-blader on was a real handfull untill they replaced it with the normal 4-blade unit.

Reminds me that this time last year i posted some historic Reno images that I've got in my collection. Have a look at http://community.webshots.com/user/buchonalia

And enjoy!

Cheers
