Well Tulio, considering where you and King and I live, I hope the thread won't head North, or South... J/K
On a positive note, it was really interesting flying in to Midland last year, for the big CAF show. Me, being a "little guy" flying the L-2, I was TRULY impressed by the treatment I got from the airboss, and the rest of the folks. I needed to leave early

and had to sneak out during the show around 2 pm on Saturday to get back to San Antonio before dark (ALS regs require that I not land at the field after dark, and I wanted to be back for church meeting on Sunday). It was really interesting to attend the pilot briefing with all of the show pilots, and I didn't personally observe one of them that didn't impress me to some extent.
What's cool about the whole thing, is that this year, I've gotten to do what I always dreamed of. My parents have said that I've liked planes ever since going to a show in San Marcos in 82 or 83 when I was under 2 years old, and they've taken me to numerous airshows. That's when I started wanting to be a pilot, and now I've come full circle, flying the L-2 into Midland, and the Lackland show last year, the Doolittle Raiders reunion this year, and flying the L-2 for the ALS picnic/fly-in L-Bird demonstration two weeks ago. Now I just try to remember what it was like to be that little 7 year old, and do my best to encourage those 7 year olds (and others as well) that I see at the limited events I can attend.
