great movie, but donald sutherland's character as odd ball or what ever his name was, was totally out of character for the ww 2 era, his character's personality was more like a doped up hippie out of the vietnam war.

I don't think the movie was ment to be realistic. After all the movie was made during the vietnam war. Maybe the director protested the war and that is why he kinda mocked the military?

I have the song "Burning Bridges" on CD. A very good song. A very good song riding a Sherman too! :D Could it be the unofficial theme song for the Sherman tank?

"Turk's souped up the engine. It'll do 60 mph in REVERSE! We like to think we can get out of trouble as fast as we can get into it."

Also one of my all time fave movies.
