Hi folks,

I was made aware via the WRG MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/warbirdsresourcegroup) that the B-25 "Heavenly Body" is possibly facing being forced out of Van Nuys Airport due to an increase in rent by the Los Angeles World Airports, who operate Van Nuys Airport. It seems that the increase is aimed at the more capable business jet crowd that populates the famed airport these days.

There is a petition online at: http://www.petitiononline.com/N8195H/petition.html

Does anyone know anything else about this problem at Van Nuys? I know there is a large group of T-6/SNJs there and I am wondering if it effects them as well.

Well Heavenly Body is always welcome at Eagle Field :D. Although the three hour drive from LA might be a little bit much for volunteers lol. Although, I'm sure Mike will fly you all up in the Navion every weekend .

Signed here as well. I don't know about Van Nuys, but the same thing is going on at the Allegheny County Airport.

I wouldn’t worry about Mike Pupich coming up with the rent! I doubt very seriously that money would be the issue with Mike. I am more concerned with the little guys being run out of VNY. The big dogs will always find a place to play. Speaking of “big dogs” at VNY how about Clay Lacey’s FBO. Clay is a huge supporter of war birds and a So Cal CAF wing member. He has to have some pull with the powers that be at VNY. Costs are going up at all of the airports not just VNY. Has the airport declared all non-corporate aircraft unwelcome or is the issue just higher rents? I am just asking.

Dan

thats just not right. I think those people that are raising the rent should just have to watch One Six Right and then mabe they will give a little break. Thats what I think. We could always try to make some room in our hanger in So. Cal. wing C.A.F Camarillo

I signed also. Is he being forced out because of a ridiculous increase in rent? Someone above implied money was no object for this guy. Is it a monetary thing or is there a concerted effort to get rid of the big warbirds there. This sounds like the start of something very bad.

I have 2 hangars big enough for a heavy bomber (B-17/B-24) and the rent is probably $200 - $300 less than almost anywhere.

Your warbird is WELCOME IN WENDOVER (KENV)!!
