This P-51 was bought by the Swedish company Biltema some time ago. It arrived at Ängelholm in Sweden earlier this month and is now being put together and test flown.

Well .. no need for them :P

As stated in the February issue of Flying back in 1969:

Noisy, nasty and expensive, the Mustang is nonetheless sexier than Jane Fonda in a beltless bathrobe. :D

I was fortunate enough to be part of Nelson Ezell's team that went to Connie Edward's place to pick that airplane up so that we could rebuild it for Heber Costello. He was a heck of a nice guy who we all miss.

I was glad to hear when Paul Besterveld bought it, because I knew it would be taken care of. Now it looks like it's still in good hands.

I called Heber's office to talk to him. Unfortunately that was the day after his accident. I was shocked and saddened. We had just spent 3 days in a rainout at Hope, Ark a few months before with he and his lovely wife. Glad to see his Mustang is in good hands.

And far less offensive.
