I finally finished organizing all my pictures from my last trip on the West Coast earlier this month and added 186 pictures, most from the Museum of Flight in Seattle and of the new (to me) "Personal Courage Wing" that is simply remarquable.

Here is a short sample:

Aviatik D-1 (rare WWI aircraft):

SPAD XIII:

Spitfire Mk.IX:

FM.2 Wildcat:

The magnificent Concorde:

And the very big 747-400 LCF:

Great stuff! Is the marking on the tail of that zero a light green stylized arrowhead?

Thanks !

Yes, it is a green stylized arrow but not a Zero (common mistake) but rather a Nakajima Ki.43-IIb Hayabusa.

I was just there a few days ago. It's a neat place but awfully dark; hard to get good pics. Looks like you had no trouble; nicely done.

Great pics!

Why must they paint the interior of every museum black??? You can't see or photograph crap.
There seems to be no exterior light coming in so preservation shouldn't be an issue.

Paint the interior white like Udvar-Hazy.

Regards,
Mike

Yeah, they often do that... but in this case, most of the exhibits are assembled in an epoch reproducing environment and I have to say it's pretty well done ! The ambiance there is awesome. But yes, very low light and many of my shots are slightly out of focus as a result...

About the B-29, nope, not anymore ! I asked because I could not find her around and was told by one of the guides that she is actually in a restauration hangar at Boeing, being lovingly worked on. Apparently, they will bring her back along with the B-17 in their very own hangar. No more outdoors sleeping for them, which is great news !
