I received an email from a friend in Germany that Saturday at an antique aircraft fly-in at Waiter-Morlen, a Bf-108B had an accident. It was trying to land in a crosswind that was 23 gusting to 28 knots. After its third attempt, the aircraft turned to avoid a thicket of trees and went into a cornfield. The propellor and nose section were damaged, and no injuries.
This is the 1937 BF-108B based at Reichelsheim.

I'd be scared to land a -108 in a 10 knot crosswind. Beautiful aircraft, but it looks like it would drag a wingtip in a heartbeat if your tailwheel technique isn't perfect.
20+ knots and it is time to find another airfield. Even a pasture would seem preferable to a runway with that kind of crosswind...
