Any updates on the restoration/assembly of the B-24?

We might never know the answer to that question. The museum's very informative website went bye bye and the replacement one is very generic!

On the History Channel, they did a segement of MEGAMOVERS that had Glacier Girl, the P-61, and this B-24.

A few things. Looking at the way they moved it, its amazing anything survived. They basically cut it up and dragged it over rough terrain, then over the cliffs, into salt water and then got floated (with floats) in the water to a boat.

BUT when you get to the end of the show there is someone there from Hill AFB standing in front of a pristine restored B-24 that makes you think they restored it back to factory new.

I guess they have not completed it? When was it recovered?

THe last I saw, Hill AFB's B--24 was back on it's gear. The fuselage is done and painted O.D. over gray. IT looks really nice.

Is it me or does it seem that this B-24 is missing multiple components?

I don't know. Where can you see pictures of it?

IIRC, this is an Ed Kaleta project. The pictures I remember on the website made the B-24 look externally complete and in good shape, but that internally there was little of anything. There were a bunch of pics on the Hill website, but those have since disappeared.

I was just there on Saturday. I have to download my pics and see what I have. She was on her gear and had all four engines mounted. I'll check tonight.

I wonder if they will start putting the interior of the plane together as well?

What's with the shiny, bright green paint - yikes!
