POF B-25 & others showcased on "Hard Shine"

Not sure if any of you guys have caught this new series on the TLC Channel. It's another "reality" series in the same spirit as the Jesee James and Orange County Chopper type flicks, but this one is based at the So-Cal Hot Rod Shop.

The manager of the hot rod shop took a half dozen of his aspriring students on a serendipitous flight in "Photo Fanny". Caught me completely by surprise! Hope some of you got the chance to see it.

Thats a pretty good show Rob! I havent seen that episode but maybe they'll show it again! We had a So-Cal Speed shop here in Spring, TX. But it closed up a while back. :(

I did see on American Hot Rod recently where Boyd had his wife taken up with the Thunderbirds.

Yep saw it last night, lots of good footage of the plane and people moving around the interior.

I believe Alex Xydias, founder of So Cal Speedshop, was a WWll ground crewman that worked on bombers and I think the B-25 was one of them.

He decided to take them for a ride, he wasn't flying the bird himself, and show them what is was like inside those planes.

I am sure they will show it again at least twice this week. Check your local listings!

Alex was a B-17 flight engineer.

Ive always loved the bellytank lakester. What a cool idea using a drop tank for a racer! 8)
