What a person chooses for there login name is no ones business except their own as long as they are not spoofing someone.

Now this is the second time I have posted this. It was in response to someone having a problem with another user name.

If you have a problem with someones user name then PM me or ignore it. Because unless they are spoofing another person then there is no rules defining user names.

A person's value as a contributor on this forum is not thier name, its what they have to say and the information they share with us. To diminish that because of thier choice of name, which only really has to make sense to them, is petty and pointless.

I don't require ID for the site beyond a valid e-mail account so there is no proof ANYONE is using thier real name or that thier user name has ANY basis in reality.

This has been one of the silliest flame wars in this sites history and it ends now.

The thread has been sequestered in the Storage Hanger, which is not open to the public :)

Astixjr, trust is earned, not given. Scott trusted this silly topic would not get out of hand the LAST time he posted it, but such was not the case. Thus, we (the users of the board) violated that trust, and we must earn it back. Yes, there were only a very few who were really getting out of hand, but that still reflects poorly on the community at large.

It's his board, and we are all guests here... thus, we are bound to respect his requests and decisions if we wish to continue participating in the community.

Cheers,

Lynn

I agree however, I think the last thread was taken way too seriously. Dan and I love to give each other a hard time.

Fiddlesticks. I hate it when the truth is dumped on me. Love that Avatar Imritger.

Jack: you are clearly off your meds and out of thearapy. I think we would get along very well.

I sequestered it to prevent it from going further downhill. The thread was treading on the "no personal attack" rule and rather than let it get out of hand and end up having to ban someone I decided to remove it. I don't like doing things like that but flame wars can drag a forum down and I've worked too hard to let something this stupid cause a big problem :) I will consider moving the post back into the main hanger, though it will be locked, if enough people PM me requesting me to do so.

At the risk of being accused of fanning flames ( :) ) I have ta say that I admire the way the mohawk matches the goatee, Scott.

Unlock the other thread. I hate it when I spend the evening thinking up my best smart ass post to screw with Jack Cook, and then it just disappears.
