hello all

while searching through my cheesy clipart discs today I found some interesting images in the "aircraft" category, including these of Race 38; is this Lefty's in a different guise, or ???

thanks Jack

what year do you figure this is? There is a large number of airshow pics on the discs, I am guessing from the late 80's - early 90's.

cheers

Would have been 1977 to 1980 somewhere, if taken at Reno. I don't remember that yellow panel at the base of the windshield in any of my photos. Would these be from Reno? If so where on the course, and what part of the Race week?

It is sad to think that this airplane is just static now and wont fly again. The whole collection in NM is just amazing.

Just look at those two pics and then get ready to see the version about to fly from Breckenridge...... they will look very, very, similar. Alan

mid week before the gear was retracted during a ground run up. One side was held up by a step ladder the other wing hit the ground. Gary walked up and asked if we knew anyone who wanted to buy a p-38...

Could not have been that year (1983), as the airplane was all black when the gear retraction happened...

Gary did not bring the airplane in 1981 and 1982, and it still had the grey paint and shark's teeth in 1977, so these shots should be from 1978, 79, or 80.
