Galveston Army Air Field 1941-1945

Well I posted this before about looking for pictures of some training aircraft from Galveston during the war. Now that I have the official name it might help those that might possibly know where to look online. I NEED SOME HELP!
Im looking for markings of aircraft that would have been stationed there. So far the feeler search on the island isnt producing much.
I did find this bit of useful information but no pics.

I also came across this about the 407th AIR EXPEDITIONARY GROUP.
"In 1943, the 407th flew the Douglas A-24 dive bomber, North American A-36 Invader dive bomber, and P-51 Mustang, and flew the P-47 Thunderbolt from 1943 to 1944.
In October 1943 the group moved the Lakeland Army Air Field, Fla., and then to Galveston Army Air Field, Texas in November where it trained for combat, and functioned as a replacement unit until April 1, 1944, when it was disestablished."

A good possibility is the Air Force Historical Research Agency at Maxwell AFB. The archives surely have the original Base Records for Galveston AAF. There are usually, but not always, photos in the supporting documents of the Base Records. You can order a microfilm of the records you require (the photos will not be very good quality) or visit the Archives in person to find the originals. The records will be listed as simply "Galveston Army Airbase" or "Galveston Army Air Field" depending on the timeframe you are requesting. The change in designation took place in mid 1943.

Thanks Scott! We have someone working with Maxwell...hopefully that can produce. I just figured that some where out on the net there could be something.
