Ok, stupid question. I remember when my Grandfather was still alive and flying his BT-13 around in the 80's He belonged to a group calling themselves the Union Air Force. ( opposite of the Confederate Air Force )
Does anyone remember that? Or was it just contained in the Minneapolis area?

Never heard of a "Union Air Force, but I remember when the Yankee Air Museum first started up in the late '70s, they were calling themselves the "Yankee Air Force" and ran an ad in "Flying" magazine painting themselves as a rival to the CAF. I think there was a line in the ad that said something like "when those rebels see the sun glinting of our wings, they'll know they've met their match." I'm assuming it was tounge-in-cheek.
