If you live anywhere near the Dayton, Ohio area, you have lots of recreational options this weekend.
The Dawn Patrol fly-in of vintage WWI warbirds and RC planes takes place at the Wright Patterson Air Force Museum. It's free and a great time and, on Saturday, it will be a great place to pick up a copy of my latest Fritz the Fox DVD.
Also, the Blue Ash Air show takes place that weekend, about forty minutes south of Dayton in the sleepy suburb of Cincinnati, Blue Ash, Ohio. Visit airportdays.com for details. It's a nice local show, and will have a few WW2 warbirds flying courtesy of the Tri-State Warbird Museum (most notably the Mustang Cincinnati Miss), as well as a performance by Lima Lima's T-34 flight team. It's small enough to put you close to the iron, but big enough to have some neat performances. There is also a classic car show on Saturday, and the all-Veteran motorcycle gang Rolling Thunder puts on an impressive parade on Sunday.
I'll be there Sunday morning, serving pancakes with our local EAA chapter.
The weather looks to be great, so if you live in the tri-state area and are sitting around bored at home this wekeend, it's your own fault. Happy landings!
