Thanks for the link to the article. I will have two members of the Doolittle Raid attending our autograph tent for the WOH airshow, Lt. Col. Dick Cole and M/Sgt. Ed Horton who was a radio op. and gunner on plane #10. We will be at Ellington on Fri. before the show with the LSFM B-25 for photo ops. and they are scheduled to be given a flight.

Dick Cole flew Tondelayo a few months back. Rob Collings was left seat and he said that it was like Lt. Col Cole had been flying B-25s all of these years without a layoff.

I hope they get the runways and ramps are repaired in time for WOH! The
IJN attack on the field yesterday musta' caught the F-16's with their guard
down. I saw a B-25 was the sole defense Ellington could get in the air to fend
off the invading hoard. Luckily the scoundrels were routed in due course.. :D

It will get worse before it gets better. The Guard starts losing jets in January. Pretty soon we'll have more fighters on the field than they do. :(

Dick told me about that and said it was "like riding a bike, but with training wheels" :lol:

Yeah...Rick, I'm gonna' miss the "sounds of freedom" in the AM around here. :(

Tim, sounds like a great lineup so far. Who else may be there in the heroes tent? I'd like to get Dick Cole's autograph on a painting of "Early Launch" in an aviation art book I recently got at Barnes & Nobles.
I feel sorry for non-warbird people. We get to meet a truly impressive group of real American Heroes in vintage av.

I heard that the C-5, B-52, C-17, and KC-135 have cancelled. Gonna be a lot of holes on the ramp if that's true.
