Has anybody got pics of Nate Mayo's Peashooter?
I had heard of the project from some FAA guys a few years back.
Someone showed me a picture on saturday and there was a crowd gathered for the first taxi test. I guess there was a brake problem, but it will be flown soon from what I was told

.

Thanks for the link Jerry - great paint scheme and project. The subject came up at a local IPMS meeting about such replicas (is there also one for the Boeing P-12 - not the movie "Aviator" replica?) and I'll pass this along to them too.

Enjoy the Day! Mark

I'd love to see one of those at an airshow!

Looks great. When's it supposed to take to the air again?

And as long as we're talkin' 'bout Peashooters...

Any news on Tim O' Conner's project(s) in Indiana? Last pictures on his website are from '06.

WOW! It would be great to get a P-26 at Geneseo next year. Since it is on the East coast...hmmmm? :D

Cheers,
Nathan

I'm one of the people involved in the project, and can answer some of your questions.

We are building only one. Tim Oconnor has two under construction, though it's not clear when they might be done, as he has a way to go yet. There's at least one being built for static display.

As far as flight readiness, we did a bunch of prep several weeks ago, decided the plane was ready to go, and brought in a test pilot (Dave Morss). He did assorted tests, up to high speed taxi, then we had a brake problem, which ended up causing us to rebuild the brake calipers and master cylinder. We fixed a couple other things while it was down, and it's now ready to go again. We're waiting on Dave's availability resume the testing. That will probably happen in 2-3 weeks. We expect that this time we'll get some real air time on it.

You can see some amount of pix and vids at www.mayocraft.com . There's also a pictorial history of construction, with other vids, if anybody cares, PM me for the URL, as I don't want to melt my server :)

The plane is for sale :) :)
