Not a bad deal. Give them $20k and spend just another $2Mil and you will have the only Dog on the street. Of course $2Mil may not be enough.....
It looks like its in an park and I have a feeling that if it isn't moved by November 1 as it says in the ad, it may well end up gettign chopped and recycled. Its a real shame, looks fairly decent as a static display.

They had that posted on Ebay last year. Didn't sell then and I think the starting bid was 30K.

Camp Meade Military Museum in Monpellier, VT.
Was actually in not too bad of a condition considering the years of exposure.
Located of I-89, Exit 9 in Middlesex, the musuem is a military history park featuring many antique military vehicles ranging from a Horwitzer, Half-Track and Sabre Jet. It is the site of the 1930's Civilian Conservation Corp Camp
Do not know if still opened however, their web site is no longer working.

Yes its the camp mead sabre. Sadly the owner of the Military Museum sold the bulk of the collection and his daughters took over the business to make the cottages in a 40's theme and no longer will taps be played over the PA in the am. Or will SOS be served in the Mess hall/Restraunt. For many years our Military Vehicle club had its rally up over the hill in the owners paint ball field.
Yes the aircraft was for sale before but the owner (was a warbird collector but name is unknown to me) had backed out due to paperwork issues.
No the aircraft will not be scrapped, the owner is not the type tho it might need to be moved by november I doubt it will be scrapped. I do know that the VT milita Museum at Camp Johnson is interested in it because the 37th Fighter flew them out of Ethan Allen AFB (AKA BTV) If there is enough interest on here, I will post the final outcome of where she ends up.

If I were in the area, I'd wait for no one to buy the aircraft and then shortly before the 1st, offer to give the old Dog a new home (maybe at scrap value). If the owner does care about saving the aircraft he'll do it, instead of seeing his Dog get put down. If it turns out that the aircraft does have a "clean title," (ie. no AF Museum ownership, or no fly clause) it has to be worth something. Remember, its not physics that makes an aircraft fly, its money and paperwork. Having an F-86D that could legally be made flyable, would in my book, make it more valuable than a majority of the Dogs out there.

Why don't they stop all the foolish "Reserve not met" nonsense and put a "Buy Now" price on it? If the "Buy Now" price is reasonable, somebody will grab it. Anyone with enough $$$ to buy, transport, and restore it isn't going to diddle around with the bidding foolishness. At least I wouldn't.

I believe we must be looking for "Reveille" accompanying the raising of the National Colors. Taps would be the last call of the day, lights out. Unless of course you are burying someone.
