Hey everyone,

I heard about this story a few years ago, and then randomly thought I'd look it up again online recently. Turns out they've now got a little mini-movie thingy about the accident.

As the story goes, there was a B-25 which departed Saskatoon for Vancouver, but shortly before it reached Vancouver it hit bad weather and crashed into the mountains just North of Vancouver.

This video clip explains that it was filled with Nazi gold, which all went missing when the plane crashed. My favourite part is when they talk about the stuck "Wing Flaps" which prevented the pilot from controlling the airplane. Looks like they really did their research.

One interesting note is they say the Pilot was a Capt. McIntosh, same as my last name. I wonder what a relative of mine was doing with a plane full of Nazi gold???? hmmm.... It certainly didn't end up getting to me. :(

I thought I'd post this for a laugh. Oh, one last thing. I get the feeling the plane they re-enact it in isn't a B-25, but then, what is it?

Enjoy,

Two parts:

Cheers,

David

P.S. To any historians out there, could there even be an ounce of truth to any of this, other than the fact the airplane really did crash?

P.P.S Does anyone want to go hiking and come home rich? hahaha... just kidding!!!

Not a historian, but haven't you ever seen Kelly's Heroes? I'm sure they pu the gold from the tanks into the B25 - how else would they get it home?

Is that the cockpit of a B-24? The center console seemed to have throttles for four engines. Am I just seeing things?

It is definitely a B-24 or PB4Y cockpit

"The wing flaps are frozen and so are the cables." This story has BS written all over it. So let me get this straight. Me and my buddies smuggle a couple of very "light" crates of gold bars out of Germany and once we get back to Canada decide we need to fly it somewhere. Why. Just spit balling here, if it were me I would try to keep it on the DL.

The real treasure would be the props that survived the crash.
