F-100 Super Sabre flying cenus?

Sat Nov 10, 2007 1:29 am

Whats happening to the fleet of F-100D/F in the warbird population? Are many currently able to fly?

I have heard of some F-100Ds flying from Turkish backgrounds and BAE?

There's an airworthy 'D' parked up at Reno, although I don't believe it has flown in the past couple of years.

There is an F-model flying and based at Fort Wayne, Indiana with Dean Cutshall. The crew chief for that airplane works for me at Midwest Texans. A few weeks ago Dean made a bunch of passes at HHG where we are based. Unfortunately, I was out of town. Go figure :) Beautiful airplane and probably flown more than any of the others.

The last time that It flew was Sept 04, I was there when it over ran the runway, I took these shots from the tug as it was happening.
