I was at Santa Paula airport over the weekend and found this gem parked there. Unfortunately, the owner wasn't around to chat about it. It's in great shape.

When I spotted it from a distance, I initially thought it was a Stearman. As I got closer I knew it wasn't. They had some neat old birds out on Sunday.

That cowl and those wheel pants really do make it a completely different aircraft. That's the first time I've seen one like that. I've got to admit. I kind of like it.

Thats a new one!!!!! Can I use the pics for the registry?????

I dont think that is a twin beech cowl. They are really got a curved shape to the firewall. It also has a 300 lycoming.

There is a N3N on ebay....................PW 1340!!!

Sure you can use them for the registry. I only ask that the pictures are unaltered and my copyright notice is intact.

Yup that a 300 lyc and a constant speed. I've got a friend here with a Stearman with a similar set-up right off a Bambo bomber. It has the
Brandt. Perkins & Brandt STC. 300hp lyc/constant speed is the perfect combination for the Stearman! I could take or leave the cowling though.
