Most of you guys on WIX will like my son David( see Photo Gallery), he should fit right in to WIX. He is sort of liberal, not like me, but owns and shoots GUNS. My big concern in the next election is a pres to get our guys and girls home. I've got some others such as taxes, environment, civil rights, but the war is what I'll vote on. David's big concern is NRA type pro gun, then the environment. He doesn't shoot animals, but he'd llike them preserved in case he feels the need to murder a few. I'd be wiiling to bet he is the most far out skier on WIX and probably the best, except maybe for his Brother. He thinks his Dad is old, irrelevant, and quaint. He does lsten to me about aviation. He'd like a pilot's license and a college degree except for all that book learning. About the only thing he gives me cool credit for is I like Bob Dylan music, especially the early stuff, and I knew Lightin Hopkins briefly.

Bill,

I am sure you are much cooler in his eyes than he will let on for years to come.

For many more important reasons but how many kid's dads have a Spitfire?!

I mean really, that is just too darn cool.

All of my nine year old's friends think I am some type of airplane guru because I play with RC planes and helis and let them play too. :D

Do you ever bring N308WK east for shows? I am in Omaha and would love to see her up close and in living color some day.

Eric

Bill,

Some of my fondest memories are of flying with my Dad. Now that I fly with my sons, its equally great memories in the making. Its always good when your kids enjoy the same things you do, even better when its airplanes.

Welcome aboard, David...I'm sure we've met, i've known your dad for almost 20 years now (has it been that long?) and I'm sure we've crossed paths.....so when will you be inheriting the Spitfire?

As long as he doesn't interject his politics in every post on the WIX, I think I will like him a lot! He already sounds like a really smart guy.

Don't tell Bill, but I like him too. I just don't want to admit it in a public forum. Oops!

Of course I don't think you're irrelevant dad, after all I can't fly the spit solo yet, so you're good for SOMETHING.

Also, I don't really think of myself as a "gun nut" but if I ever had large quantities of money I was trying to find a way to spend, I'd love to get the proper licenses to have the Spit fully armed with working guns. You know, just for hunting, and personal protection and stuff.
