I've been having some work done on a B-25 model that's for sale on my website, and the guy working on it for me asked me this question. I'm not sure of the answer on this and wondered if I could get some help!

Quote:
I have been working on the model and need a question answered before I can continue. There are 2 doors for the nose gear only one of which stays open when the gear is fully extended, some drawings that I have show the door centered on the fuselage others (as well as the B-25J plastic model I have)show is offset to one side. You seem to have more connections than I do can you find the answer for me? I also would like to know if the nose gear is centered on the fuselage or offset to one side a little. I'm not going to finish the whole cockpit at this time but I realized while studying the plastic model I have the to build a gear bay for the nose gear would be an integral part of the cockpit so if you can help me get it right now me or someone else will have less trouble completing the interior at some later date.

If you know the answer to this, would you let me know?

Thanks!
Ryan

It is off-set slightly due to the nose gear needing to clear the tunnel leading to the nose compartment. The NLG retracts at an angle to the centerline of the aircraft.
