auction : original howard hughes xf-11 crash archive

this 1 will break some piggy banks!!!! up for auction is the following...

xf-11 control yoke 1 of the crown jewels of aviation history, estimated
to sell for between 40 k to 60 k.

u.s. marine master sergeant william l. durkin's official typed statement account of the crash of the xf-11 on 7/7/46 for authorities. he is the guy who rescued hughes from the crash.

a pass to the west hollywood "players" nightclub signed by preston sturges, 1 of hughes's business partners.

letter from sturges to durkin's commanding officer commending sgt. sturges bravery.

a letter from hughes to sturges on hughes aircraft letterhead paper expressing his gratitude, & offering him a job & $$$$ as a gesture of thanks.

monthly checks to sgt. durkin for services rendered
