Is this a picture of Spitfire AR501?

Whatever it is, that would be quite the sight for a morning walk.

Thanks for your reply Mark.
Not really sure where this was.

I was just doing a quick "word" search for Spitfires in Flickr and came across this.

http://flickr.com/photos/7568194@N05/2000518611/
Someone by the name of mattsullivan1976 uploaded it.
This was the only picture of it that I saw.
I wasn't sure who it was. But I see that the picture was taken on July 29,2007.

Regards,

It's Spitfire Vb BM597 not AR501

That was the other possibility....and I know AR501 does'nt make it to the coast that much (as the Shuttleworth collection is based well inland) so i wondered when it would've gotten over there for a shot like that...

I have a great Duxford shot of BM597 with an army Willy's Jeep at rest on the field, very WWII-esque.....add a few hockey players and some fly fisherman and you'd have 4 of my favorite things in one photo!

AR501's not flown for a couple of years, it's undergoing an engine rebuild and inspection.

The Polish emblem on the engine cowl is just discernable - BM597.
