I just called a good friend of his and mine up in OK, he said Dick is on a family vacation somewhere in FL.

I spent some time with Dick at the Mustang Gathering and yes he is on vacation for a brief time. He still has not gotten his book done. I keep telling him I will buy the first copy if he ever completes the book. Dick knows the backgrounds of almost every flying Mustang there is it is incredible the knowledge the guy has.

I expect my usual Mustang X mas card from him sometime soon....don't talk to him as much as we used to talk but still think the guy is one of the greatest in the world....always full of amazing information...have some really funny pics of him at the Corsair gathering in 2002 and Duxford...lol...

Come on Mark....give it up! Show us the pics of the man we all know and love....in a brotherly way, of course....
You guys are right about Dick. I don't know anyone that could take him on about P-51s. He's one of the guys that got me hooked on Breckenridge! Add me to the book list.

Dick Phillips sent me this and asked me to post for him:

Hi Everybody,
Thanks for the concern about my whereabouts. I'm glad that some of the guys I managed to meet at the GML did tell you I was alive and kicking. I attended the GML all four days, even tho the Thursday was kind of a "washout", weatherwise. There were several of you there that I would liked to have talked to, but we just never ran across each other. I did manage to find some of you via cell phone, navigation.
RE: this years P-51 Christmas card, they are being made right here on my printer and will be a bit different this year, as there are about 6 different air to air photos, all of them taken at the GML, either from Nathan Davis's P-51 or from the B-25, PACIFIC PROWLER.
Thanks again for your concern about my well being. After my 2 day stay in the ICU of an Oshkosh hospital, for a kidney stone attack, at the end of July, I was wondering if I would make the GML at all. I didn't even get to attend Gerry Beck's funeral in Fargo.
I just returned from a week of beach lounging in Sarastoa, and feeling great.
