Delaware (ILG) ANG Warbird Photos Needed

Wed Jan 09, 2008 2:55 pm

I'm looking for post war photos of F-47Ns and F-51Hs at the New Castle (Wilmington) Airport, the 142nd Fighter-Interceptor/Fighter Bomber/Tactical Fighter Squadron . If you have any F-84, 86 or 94 photos I'd love to see them as well. Thanks, Joe

I don't have his contact information, but the person to talk to at the DEL ANG is Col (ret) Robert Scott. He is the guy responsible for their archives. Very nice guy who flew F-86 to KC97's in the organization. You probably would find him if you call Operations at the Air Guard.

Thanks!!!

Thanks Swiss, they are exactly what I was looking for. My first aviation related job was at ILG when the agency I work for took over operation of the field. One of the first things I was asked to do was to get rid of a pile of "junk" in a couple of the previous administration's offices. Luckily I had the prescence of mind to look before I chucked and saved a lot of WWII era documents, blueprints and a few photos. That salvage mission was the beginning of my love affair with warbird related aviation.
