The Shipley Sabre is a former SAAF Canadair built Mk VI. It is marked in a USAF colour scheme with "71461" on the tail. My notes indicate it is marked as an F-86 once flown by Frank Borman. The problem is that the marking "71461" doesn't relate to any F-86 serial. The closest I can find using Baughers lists is 53-1461. Does anyone know if there is any significance to "71461"?

Regards,

Mike
