Howdy Mick & Jack
39th FS/35th FG/ 5th AIR FORCE
P-38G-5-LO, AAF S/N. 42-12847, # 37, assigned to Lt. John C. Dunbar
Crew Chief Sgt. Ray Chartrey
John Dunbar painted the nose art picture and name " DUMBO ! " on his P-38
Painting showed the Disney character running with a smoke trail of bolts and nuts.
Mick has the restoration of this and the other P-38s started at Precision yet ?
Thanks
Keep em flying

John Lane might be able to help on this one.
A friend of mine, John Stanaway, wrote the 39th FS
unit history so I'll check with him.
